This and That and an Upcoming Online Class...

Hi, friends! I've been a big 'ole slacker in the blogging department lately - sorry! May is a really busy month for my family, so I've been busy trying to keep up with everything. First off, my wonderful father-in-law celebrated his 85th birthday last Sunday and we had a nice little party and cookout for him at our home. It was SUPER FUN to get together with family and I even got some precious "baby time" with my sweet great-nephew Henry:

This evening I attended the retirement party for my friend and former boss, Carol G. She has been the director of the special education department for Broken Arrow Public Schools for many years, and is an amazing child advocate! I am so happy that she and her sweet hubby Eddie will now have time to travel and enjoy a slower paced life!

On a final note, I wanted to share a cool opportunity with you to sign up for one of Stephanie Ackerman's online classes, which is a Bible Study/Journaling Class:

I signed up for it and I am SUPER EXCITED to get started when the online class opens on June 1st! If you register before May 26th, you'll get $10.00 off of your class fee, which makes it only $29.00. You can click HERE to go to her website for all the details and to sign up. :)

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming 3-day Memorial weekend, and I've got several crafty projects to finish up and post for you in the upcoming weeks. Be sure to check back to see projects using an old quilt, a cabinet door, a metal file box, and the list goes on!!

Enjoy the rest of the week and have a safe and restful weekend!!

Blessings,

Poppin' Peonies Painted Canvas...

Hi, All! We've had LOTS of rain here...the ground is completely saturated which has caused some flash-flooding in some areas. (Thankfully, we've been spared from that!) We're hoping for some nicer weather this weekend, as we'll be celebrating my father-in-law's 85th birthday with a cookout at our home. The forecast is showing chances of rain and severe weather, but being the eternal optimist that I am, I am hoping that the skies will clear in time for his party on Sunday.

Last weekend I painted a canvas at our local Pinot's Palette with my friend Sharon S. and her daughter Sara. The title of the painting is "Poppin' Peonies", and I am pleased with how it turned out! I am considering having it framed in a white-washed barn wood frame...I think that would add to the shabby-chic beauty of it:

With the rain coming down outside now, which is making me sleepy, so I think that I'll go ahead and turn in early to sleep good to the sound of rain. :)

Thanks for dropping by this evening...enjoy the rest of the week friends!

Our Segway Adventure...

Hi, friends! We were blessed with such a gorgeous Oklahoma weekend that I spent most of my time outdoors. My sweetie surprised me with an early birthday gift...a guided Segway tour of downtown Tulsa to see the amazing Art Deco architecture. We had a fantastic time...you can check out the website for Tulsa Segway HERE, and even book a tour if you'd like a fun sight-seeing adventure!

Along with viewing the fantastic architecture we also visited several well-known sights such as the Guthrie Green, the Blue Dome District, Reconciliation Park, the Mayo Hotel, etc. Here are a couple of pics from our little adventure:

I LOVE this cool mosaic of Will Rogers...it looks like he is glancing over at Mike and I on our Segways - lol! :)

After our 2-hour tour we were famished, so we ate a delicious lunch at Spaghetti Warehouse and then did a little shopping.

Thanks for dropping by today...wishing you a bright and sunny week ahead!

Quote Sunday

I really love this quote, and since I'll be celebrating birthday number 48 on Wednesday, I thought it would be a good time to share it. :)

Wishing you a peaceful and restful Sunday!
