Flourishes Journal
This Fabulous Friday Challenge this week over at Frosted Designs is to create a project using flourishes, so above is a photo of the project that I submitted. It's an altered composition notebook that I made for my friend and former co-worker, Margaret, for her birthday. I covered the notebook with scrapbook paper, ribbon, a chipboard monogram, and some buttons. I aged/distressed the scrapbook paper by sanding it and then sponging brown ink around the outer edges. Using brown ink, I stamped flourishes on the cover and then stamped the "Happiness" definition sentiment in the upper right corner. I covered a chipboard "M" with coordinating paper and sanded/inked the edges of that as well before adhering it to the cover. After adding the buttons and ribbon, I decided that it needed a little something more, so I attached a copper key with a little piece of hemp for a fun touch.
Please take a moment to check out the other wonderful projects over at Frosted Designs! Also, why not enter a project of your own?? You have until noon on Thursday, Sept. 8th, to link your flourishes project to their Fabulous Friday Challenge which gives you an opportunity to win the weekly prize!! Click HERE to check it all out!
